Contradicting Commitments- How the Achievement of Education For All is Being Undermined by the International Monetary Fund

This paper examines the role of the International Monetary Fund in constraining countries from increasing public expenditure in education to meeting the education-related Millennium Development Goals. The research is based on case studies and interviews in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Guatemala, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone from 2004 to 2005.
