Damilola joined the International Budget Partnership as Digital Strategist in 2021. Previously, he was Head of Design, Media and Communications at BudgIT, a civic-tech organisation leading the advocacy for fiscal transparency and accountability in Africa. In addition to leading and building comms at BudgIT, Dammy has been a consultant, advising on digital strategies, for the British Council where he has led high-impact influencer campaigns working with celebrities to shape critical narratives and elevate public awareness around key social issues. Dammy is also Google digital skills trainer. Before embarking on his work to advance activism, he worked in the private sector as an Art Director with some of Nigeria’s leading advertising agencies where he created campaigns for brands such as MTN, Unilever, British American Tobacco, etc Dammy loves playing and watching football, driving and travelling.

Karla joined the International Budget Partnership as Strategic Communications Advisor in 2021. She is an editor and communications strategist with a decade of interdisciplinary experience in the non-profit and corporate worlds – from newspapers to think tanks, NGOs, and branding agencies. Karla has lived and worked in Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, Ramallah, and Jerusalem. She is adept at shaping content for a diverse array of both activist and think tank audiences. With a passion for perfecting copy, sharpening ideas, and bolstering arguments, she specializes in generating, publishing, and marketing ideas and content. Karla received her Masters in international development from the Hebrew University and Bachelors in anthropology and gender studies from the University of Cape Town.

Rajan Zaveri joined the International Budget Partnership in June 2020 and is based in any location he can get an internet connection.
For the last decade, Rajan has worked internationally as a multimedia journalist, producer, and manager to project urgent human rights issues and breakthroughs into public conversation. He has produced interactive web documentaries, infographics, social media campaigns, websites, exhibitions, and an interactive learning database on international criminal law. Rajan has the capacity to bring high-impact stories to life using photography, videography, 360-degree interactives, and web design–from project design to planning, production, post-production, and digital or installation-based release.
Prior to joining IBP Rajan was the Co-founder of HELM Studio (Hands-on Education, Law and Media), where he worked with his other co-founders to partner with human rights visionaries, amplifying their work by using co-constructed design processes that brings together the expertise of human rights defenders, with in-house competencies in research, design, media, technology, law and human rights.

Cynthia Romero joined the International Budget Partnership as Director of Communications in 2020. Previously, she led communications for various reproductive rights nonprofits working domestically and abroad.
During the Obama administration, she served as a presidential appointee at USAID. As strategic communications advisor to the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance, she spearheaded messaging for a bureau spanning nine offices with over 800 staff overseeing more than $4 billion dollars in annual assistance. She was the speechwriter on a dozen Congressional testimonies on major flashpoints—from the Ebola epidemic in West Africa to the crises in Syria and South Sudan.
Previously at Freedom House, Cynthia managed programs to support free expression and civic participation in some the world’s most repressive countries— Cuba, Venezuela and Iran. She also held positions at the Atlantic Council, where she authored a provocative report calling for reforms in Georgia in advance of the country’s first democratic transfer of power; at the National Democratic Institute, where she coordinated advocacy for one of the largest civic movements inside Cuba; and in the office of the late Senator Ted Kennedy.
Cynthia has been a frequent contributor on CNN en Español, Fox News, The Washington Post and other Spanish and English-language outlets. She received her MA from Queens University Belfast, where she was a George J. Mitchell Scholar and a BA magna cum laude from Princeton University
